Erev is an app for iPhone. You build the list of what has to get done before Shabbos and who is doing it. Each job goes to that person by text message, timed by how long before candle lighting it has to be done, so it moves on its own as the weeks change. They reply DONE, and it ticks off on your board.
Nobody gets a text from Erev until they ask for one. You send each person an invite from your own phone. They text JOIN and their code to Erev, get the details, and reply YES. Anyone can reply STOP at any time. Exactly what Erev sends.
Erev sends nothing between candle lighting and havdalah, across all three days of a long Yom Tov, and nothing in the last 45 minutes before candle lighting either.
